More than likely ai is going to be a tool in our arsenal. It’s not going to replace engineering. 9 times out of 10 people that say “it’s the end of world” are fear mongering. For hundreds of years every new invention was the end of something or humanity. Yet here we are.

Ai definitely can’t completely replace engineering. But what it can do is make work get done much more quickly and efficiently and suddenly a 5 person job becomes a 2 person job and as a result less people are needed and downsizing happens in some fields

Im four years into physics then going post grad for EE. AI simply doesn’t have the capability to experiment and invent (as of now). For people who don’t rely on it as a crutch it has become a massive time saver for projects. in my first year it couldn’t do basic derivatives, now it can do PDE’s perfectly. Ai can be useful as long as the scientists coming out of college still have their own ingenuity without it.

What’s up dude this is my first semester in civil engineering I was a bad student in high school I graduated with a 2.3 gpa but civil engineering rly interest me but I’m thinking about switching to construction management. Im taking 15 units and the classes are hard especially my chem and math class I study for hours and hours and I go to tutoring I ask questions but when its time to take quizzes and exams I forget everything its like nothing sticks to me I’ve been thinking about switching I just don’t want to be held back and stay in school for more then I should.

watching your videos has slowly over these past couple weeks has given me that last push i needed to return to school for engineering. It took me four years to get my own mental and physical issues in check and I feel a little ashamed being behind people my age but ive found a genuine love for learning and I just wanted to thank you 🙏 (sorry if this seems weird but hearing someone just be real about the expectations and reality about college genuinely helps so much🥹)

This is just one of the many examples: AI can’t run majority of physical test that are needed for Compliance Standards. AI is simply a tool that will make engineering easier it will not replace engineers

Any thing that uses software will be reduced, with ai something that required 10 ppl will be done by 5 ppl but that doesn’t mean the displaced ones are done for more spots are prolly gonna open up more then ever in couple years that is if ai companies fix their problems first and dont burst out
