My mom told me "The day I pick you up early this year is the day your great grandpa died" I forgot about it until 2 months later when she picked me up early, took me to my favorite restaurant, then took me to the hospital to say goodbye to him. He died right after I told him I love you :( (I feel you dude)

My parents knew not to pull this shit with me 😭 somehow I could sense that someone died as a kid and the moment they tried to do something for me to soften the blow, I got pissed like just tell me man. When my grandpa died, everyone tried to keep it from me (I was 5) the morning they found him but my aunt was so straight up with me bc it hurt worse seeing everyone upset and not knowing why
