@gamesdotgg: @Ubisoft has joined Xbox's Disc-to-Digital program, and it is a significant addition. After initial reports suggested Ubisoft was sitting the program out, players confirmed yesterday that a wide range of titles are now supported, including @Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the Ezio Collection, AC Syndicate, Far Cry 4, Far Cry 6, Far Cry Primal, Star Wars Outlaws, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Watch Dogs, and Trials Fusion. The program, currently in testing with Xbox Insiders, lets players insert a physical disc into an Xbox One or Series X and claim a permanent digital license tied to their account, enabling disc-free play, cloud streaming, and Xbox Play Anywhere access. The library now sits at over 1,000 supported titles according to community tracker XCT.Live. Square Enix, Sega, and Bandai Namco are still not on board, though Windows Central's Jez Corden has said other publishers are working through the legal details and more are expected to follow. #xbox #ubisoft #ashasharma #xboxseriesx #gamingnews

Shawesome :

Ubisoft was one of the first studios to tell consumers that buying digital isn't "owning."

caspereksdii :

funny how Xbox and Ubisoft are now joining the cause against Sony when they where the first who said the same thing a couple years ago

RXM :

My Bo3 disc is in my old original Xbox one, i can’t take it out in fear that it will scratch and will never be able to play again. I did the disc to digital on the original Xbox one and now play Bo3 on the X/S without having to buy a new Bo3. Thank you Xbox

evosero :

can you still lend or sell the discs? or is this just a way of tricking people into all digital libraries?

Onuoskar✅️ :

Imagine have cloud gaming for 15 hours

Steven :

Ubisoft is one of the companies that’s big on the “you don’t own your games” though

Nelms :

PlayStation down so bad Xbox’s number one

lordultra :

rip sony

I :

can the games be played without the disc inside the xbox? becasue if not, whats the point? this seems like microsoft pretending to have different licence agreements going than sony. the entire digital marketplace is in danger when sony wins this. microsoft is no different, trying to fool you into them.

J :

The best console always keeps winning

Lord :

Ubisoft is a dying studio and both those titles are crap 😂 they ain’t what they used to be

Yeahyeah408 :

Everyone thinks they can just borrow games and return them and keep the digital game 🤣 once the next person inserts the game you loss that digital license 🤣

Snake :

The best 👑👍👍🙏👑

Poop Monster :

I think adding this to PC would be incredible. Pop an Xbox disc in your tower, if you have a drive, and the game installs to the Xbox app

Finally! I am tired of keeping these discs in my room. I would rent them any day. Thank you Ubisoft and Xbox! ❤️

Lenxy :
