@mosheh: Friday marks the 25th anniversary of the deadliest terrorist attack in U.S. history. Nearly 3,000 people were killed on September 11, 2001, in attacks on New York City, the Pentagon, and aboard hijacked Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania but was headed toward the U.S. Capitol. News networks were live that morning and covered the attacks as they unfolded. Anchors first told viewers that a plane had hit one of the Twin Towers in Lower Manhattan at 8:46 a.m. ET. Reporters were on the phone with witnesses when the second plane hit on live television at 9:03 a.m. ET. Then-President George W. Bush, in the first year of his first term, was at Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida. As he sat in a second-grade classroom, reading "The Pet Goat" with students, his Chief of Staff whispered to the president at 9:05 a.m. ET, saying, “A second plane hit the second tower. America is under attack.” At 9:31 a.m. ET, Bush confirmed from the school to the world that the crashes were an "apparent terrorist attack on our country." A third plane hit the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, shortly before 9:37 a.m. ET. After burning for 56 minutes, the South Tower fell at 9:59 a.m. ET. United Airlines Flight 93 crashed at 10:03 a.m. ET near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after heroic crew members and passengers stormed the cockpit, forcing the hijackers to crash the plane. After burning for 102 minutes, the North Tower fell at 10:28 a.m. ET. Americans watched it happen live, and many remember exactly where they were. More than 80% of Americans born before 2001 – including 93% of those who were 10 or older at the time – say they recall exactly where they were or what they were doing when they heard about the attacks, according to an August Pew Research Center survey. About 10% of American adults were born after 2001 and did not witness the attacks firsthand. Among adults now ages 18 to 24, 60% say they first learned about 9/11 in class or through schoolwork.

Bush on 9/11: “May god bless the victims, their families, and America.” Trump on 9/11: “Now my tower is the biggest.”

there was absolutely no way firemen could have tackled this.... those firemen ran to their deaths in futile attempts to rescue others. its gut wrenching. those men and women mustve been so terrified. the bravery and courage it took to enter that building-- i cant imagine it.
