One thing I keep coming back to is that we talk about ensuring AI has human values as though there’s some single set of values we all agree on. But there isn’t. We can’t even agree with each other on what’s right & wrong (ie: Lindsay Clancy, immigration, abortion, capital punishment, war, etc.) so how exactly do we decide what values we want something vastly more intelligent than us to have? I think that’s a much harder problem to solve.
