Try turnips. Cook like potatoes, mash and add butter with little sugar. Great substitute for mashed potatoes!

Do you guys have wild persimmons growing in your area? We do, wait until after frost for much better/sweeter. Just a late season fruit I was thinking of. There is a nature center near us that allows people to harvest
