Someone said they need to accept donkey Kong was the Mario sequel for now. I kind of agree with them. I got to be honest I’m really liking my switch 2 but I’m really not craving a new 3D Mario game because donkey Kong did fill that void and also the new Kirby game. I’m sure we will get one though no way we don’t get a new Mario or smash but people are going to be so annoying about it.

I’ve grown up with Mario games so I can’t deny I’m not bummed about no new 3D Mario game. And admittedly, I’m no true Zelda fan. I’ve never made it through a Zelda game or beat one. The type of game Zelda is just not my type of game. So yes, Ocarina of Time looks awesome. But it’s not something I’m gonna pick up and play. Mario games were more my speed, hence me being a bit bummed. HOWEVER, I’m not gonna kick up a fuss about it. I still have a Wii and the original switch. Both with plenty of Mario games I enjoy. I’m pretty happy. 😌 Will I get excited if and when Nintendo releases a new 3D Mario game? Oh yeah. 100% But for now, I’m perfectly happy with Mario Galaxy and 3d world.

It's so funny because Nintendo has only been announcing games 6 months out from release for a while now. It's perfectly plausible 3D Mario comes out in the next 12 months. Bananza quite notably also wasn't all of the Odyssey team, quite a lot of the Odyssey team was shifted onto other projects within EPD1. I would bet money that Bowser's Fury and Bananza are experiments for the next 3D Mario, smaller projects whilst the bigger project is already underway and has been since 2017. EPD1 is huge, they routinely put out multiple games a year, they have more than enough resources to work on DK and Mario concurrently. Video game development takes a long time, but Nintendo's development pipeline rivals the best of them, they're as efficient if not more efficient than Capcom.

Plus a new Mario wouldn't come out until next spring or summer most likely. It isn't going to come out this fall and compete with Zelda. It isn't going to hit winter and compete with Metroid. Spring is the earliest and then it will depend on when Pokemon is dropping as well.

genuinely no one understands game development and just wants new stuff ignoring the ethics behind it. I've been wanting a new kirby game for forever now. but given forgotten lands dlc and RtD Deluxe it was going to be awhile. this was the first direct where I actually assumed it would. and smash is just not at all coming out. smash games are big events and take a lot to make. ultimate is still on the switch. it makes no sense to make a new game for the switch 2 instead of just making the "ultimate" game better

my question is what do these people play when they dont have a new mario or zelda? 1. its your own fault that you believe leakers 2. smash has no logical sense, nintendo is not prepared for a re-imagend concept for at least 5 more years i would say and there is no reason for a deluxe version - you get 5-10 new character that you wont touch because its not an S tier character. 3. we are getting tons of games both first-party and third-party play some games I swear these are the same that complain about no new games and then go back to play fortnite
