I don’t put money down ever. Most they might get is a trade in. Car dealers don’t sell cars they sell loans. And I won’t come out of pocket for a loan.

I have done this before and it works. I always tell them I don't NEED a new car. I have walked away several times and they always call back. My truck I have now they took 8k off and I negotiated to 1.9% interest. my husband always let's me do the talking.

Here’s what I do: KBB app will tell you how much you should pay for that year, make, model amd mileage for the car you’re looking at. When talking price you say, this is what I should pay, you either match it or walk out. Be prepared to walk out..

Yup I told my overly friendly husband to shut the hell up when we went car shopping. Got a 22 4runner with 21k miles for 35k out the door, clean car fax and blacked out package. They were not happy after we finally signed and I told them we’re paying cash lol

i was looking at a car and the MANAGER said that we were ridiculous and that we wasted his time. the sales person we were working with called us and we got $3k off of the car cause of his nasty attitude.

I learned quick after buying my first car at 21 years old, many many years ago. Now, I walk in a car dealership and tell them what I am looking for and I negotiate the price of the car, tax, title,and tags, the cost out the door. I then proceed to fill out the application, and I tell them I want be sitting around in a waiting room. I dont test drive cars because I know what I want. I have very good credit, so I leave and tell them to call me when they are ready to finalize the deal. After running my credit, they do everything to keep me there to no avail. Upion getting a call from the salesman, I return to finalize everything and I let them know that I expect to be in and out within 1 hour 30 minutes, I dont have patience to be sitting all day a car dealership. If the numbers aren't to my liking when I am at the finance table, I give them 15 minutes to work it out and if I am not satisfied with what they are offering I tell them thank you very much with a smile and leave. I am my family's negotiator...2025 QX80 Infiniti, 2026 Nissan Armada, 2026 GMC Denali Pickup Truck, two 2025 Grand Wagoneers, and a 2026 Santa Fe. Last but not least my S550 Benz I bought 3 years ago. If you have good credit NEGOTIATE!!!!

Yes can tell the dealer that and fight for the lowest price. Trust me because I did it. Take that estimate paper and go to another dealer and 100% guaranteed they will beat the price of the first dealer. No one will tell you this trick. I did it for my VW and got a better car for the same price of less options car.
