Humanoid robot fighting just moved into a real arena in Riyadh. CyberHero x Riyadh launched on September 9 with 10 EngineAI T800 humanoid robots competing in the Middle East’s first humanoid robot combat event, organized by Hero Esports. The T800 is roughly 1.73 m tall, weighs 75–85 kg and has 29 articulated joints. These machines can punch, kick, turn, take a fall and get back up. The fights also have an actual competition structure: teams of three robots, 1v1 battles, best of seven, 30 HP per robot and rounds lasting up to three minutes. The robots are operated by human teams rather than being presented as autonomous fighters. Under the entertainment layer, combat is a brutal hardware test. Every hit exposes weaknesses in balance recovery, actuator control, structural durability, latency and the ability to keep moving after an unexpected impact. And Riyadh is only the start. Hero Esports says CyberHero is planned as an eight-city global robot sports circuit spanning the Middle East, Europe, the Americas and Asia.
