According to an announcement by Salt TV and Salt FM - stations owned by Bugingo - Mzee Bujjingo died on *Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.* He was born in 1918. >
🔴 BREAKING NEWS 🔴 Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, founder and senior pastor of House of Prayer Ministries International (Canaan Land, Makerere Kikoni), is mourning the death of his father, *Mzee Aloyzi Bujjingo*, who passed away at the age of 108. According to an announcement by Salt TV and Salt FM - stations owned by Bugingo - Mzee Bujjingo died on *Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.* He was born in 1918. > "Pastor Aloysious Bujjingo's Father has gone to be with the Lord," the station posted. The cause and place of death have not yet been disclosed, and burial arrangements are yet to be announced. The family says further communication will be made in due course. *Who was Mzee Aloyzi Bujjingo?* Pastor Bugingo first introduced his father and mother to the public in October 2019 during his Independence prayer night at Namboole Stadium. He revealed that his parents had lived in Rwanda. His father told the congregation then that Bugingo was born in Masaka and remained with relatives when they returned to Rwanda. Bugingo spent much of his childhood away from his parents, raised by his maternal grandparents. He has often spoken about growing up in poverty, frequent childhood illnesses, and mistreatment that forced him to leave for Kampala as a teenager without transport money - hitching a ride on a truck carrying matooke. From selling popcorn at Owino Market and working as a houseboy, he built House of Prayer Ministries and Salt Media Group.
