Holly :
Do you know what the difference is between the one that is blue and you have to moisten with saline or the other one that is more of a spongy type?

I have never seen this being beneficial for wound healing. It’s like they slap this on when everything else failed.

As a newish wound nurse I’m not that familiar with using hydrofera blue. I’ve only used to pack wounds. If you use on wound bed, do you exactly to size? Is it for light, mod or heavy draining wounds? On slough or only gran?

We just started using this on one of my patients and I'm worried that it will eventually take off healthy tissue.

I feel like it sticks to the wound bed when there is drainage drys. I soak it off with saline. but still feel like it takes off healthy tissue.

We love this stuff but too expensive in LTC, we have used derma-blue foam as an alternative but it is not as good

Saline actually dries up the hydrofera after a few hours, I always use hydrogel to moisten hydrofera blue. 😉

I have a small spot that’s scabbed, but not healed. It was a chest tube site. My doctor said just let it dry heal…it’s been almost 3 months and still a scab that’s not fallen off. Would this work?

I have used this product and it does not thrill me. I have never seen at work any better than using an alginate or literally anything else even like a normal saline wet to dry. I’ve never found any benefit in it.
