@theworkoutwitch: get the nervous system regulation exercises that build new neural pathways in your brain and rewire the patterns that CPTSD created in the first place👇🏼 if you live with c-ptsd, you may experience: - chronic feelings of sadness or hopelessness - persistent distrust in other people - dissociation or detachment from yourself / the world around you - difficulty managing your emotions - constant anxiety, including social anxiety - self abandonment - chronic pain - feeling fundamentally flawed or worthless none of this is your fault… repeated exposure to trauma impacts your body so deeply that it physiologically changes your brain’s chemistry and communication. this alters the function of your amygdala (which is your emotional processing center), making you perceive fear more easily and struggle to regulate your emotions. your hippocampus (which is your memory and learning center), so you can’t fully store or retrieve memories, leaving you stuck in emotional flashbacks and brain fog… and your prefrontal cortex (which is your attention and behavior center), so you struggle to plan, focus, and make decisions clearly. the good news is that because cptsd is a brain injury, it can also be repaired. in the healing process, you’ll rebuild: your self-acceptance, sense of identity, self-compassion, ability to form close relationships, ability to relax, ability to take care of yourself, physical health, peace of mind, and capacity to enjoy life. if you have CPTSD you never deserved the trauma that you went through. you survived toxic environments and you’ve already done an incredible job by making it here. but ultimately, you are the only person who can heal yourself from cptsd. and as a fellow survivor of c-ptsd, healing is possible and you’re worth it. get the nervous system regulation exercises that build new neural pathways in your brain and rewire the patterns that CPTSD created in the first place 👇🏼 "heal my nervous system" 🔗 on my profile 💖✌🏼💖 • • • #somatic #somatichealing #CPTSD #nervoussystem #nervoussystemhealing

It's brain Damage not Injury! There is no cure, we can mask with drugs, we can use different types of mental & physical therapy but ultimately it's with you for LIFE!

I still have those nightmares and I wake up scared, sweating and breathing heavily. SA from someone who you thought was suppose to protect has affected my entire life. I’m 37 now just graduated from College mental health and addictions community professional course and it helped me learn so much about myself and how to regulate. What helped the most for me was repairing and rewiring neural pathways by introducing new practices and healthy habits into my life. Much more to this but that’ll be a lot more paragraphs to add I just wanna say it gets better and there is hope. SAbusers have no idea how much they affect the people they CHOSE to do those things to.
