Working hard, getting great performance reviews… but STILL not getting promoted? Here’s something I learned after 17 years in corporate America, including being on the executive side of promotion decisions: Being great at your job doesn’t automatically mean you’ll get promoted. Sometimes your manager isn’t the final decision-maker. Sometimes there’s no budget. And sometimes nobody is making the case for you when you’re not in the room. So instead of just working harder and hoping someone notices, here are 3 questions worth asking: 1️⃣ Who actually makes promotion decisions? Understand the process and what those decision-makers need to see. 2️⃣ If you had to advocate for my promotion tomorrow, what’s missing? Make it easier for your manager to build your case. 3️⃣ Is there a realistic path to promotion in the next 6–12 months? Know whether you’re working toward a real opportunity or waiting indefinitely. Your career is one of your biggest financial assets. And growing your income can be just as important as growing your investments. Don’t just work harder. Make sure that hard work is creating opportunities. 💬 Have you ever been passed over for a promotion despite getting great performance reviews? #TheSteadyInvestor #CareerGrowth #CareerAdvice #PersonalFinance #BuildingWealth
