I declined all pain medication. I took Tylenol the entire time so it was safe for breastfeeding. I confidently walked around maybe 7-8 days after. 2 weeks I felt like I could manage most things. 4 weeks I was to my new "normal". My backside was numb for almost 2 weeks.

Had 3rd baby Monday unexpected csection and first c section. I also had a mag drip so I wasn’t able to stand on my own for another day after surgery . I definitely did too much once I was discharged on Thursday.

I feel like I'm going to bragging when I say this but.... with my first son I was up and moving around pretty good actually within an hour of being out of the C-section. I discharged less than 13 hours after my surgery and was walking up and down my home stairs that same night. I should say tho I was in labor for 72 hours before I stopped dilating at 7cm and baby's heart rate was dropping and my heart rate kept going high so I had to get a C-section. my sweet baby was transported to another hospital for the NICU and I couldn't go with him because I wasn't in any danger so I discharged that night. but I'm not saying I just came back to being me but I think I recovered pretty quickly and felt like myself again within 2 days of discharging. my ob was very surprised that I bounced back so quick and felt like me. I'm not trying to brag or make any mom feel bad for taking their time. kudos to every mother out there that survived childbirth. and kudos to every dad out there who lost their partner and is doing it all on their own. 😇🙏☺️☺️☺️

I had 4 c-sections and was up walking around day 1 of each of them. Comfortably, probably after day 3-4. I didn’t take pain meds with any of them.

Just had one 2 weeks ago exactly today. I feel almost completely better. I have to keep telling myself to take it easy. I would say I felt much better by day 5.. but was able to walk a few hours after the surgery

The day after, left the hospital and was able to go up and down stairs on day 4. Scheduled c section, early movement and no opioids at all

The key is to get up and moving around asap. As soon as I was allowed…I got up and sat in the recliner next to my bed…catheter and all. I kept a pillow pressed against my incision in case I coughed/sneezed or laughed. I was also recovering from the flu. Once the catheter was removed I showered. Our baby roomed in with me so I was up and down changing him and nursing him. He laid in bed with me until I was sleepy and I would put him in the bassinet. He only went to the nursery for rounds/vaccinations/circumcision. I would use that time to shower and straighten/ organize the room. If he was not back when I was done I would waddle my ssa down to the nursery to get him. I stayed in the hospital 3 nights and I felt great by the time I got home. Against everyone’s wishes I even cooked dinner that night.

I walked ALOT and was able to stand straight by the end of week 1, I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my partner giving me encouragement

I really think it depends on your pain tolerance and how fast you heal, which makes it different for everyone. I’m a fast healer with a fairly high pain tolerance. I was standing with discomfort less than 48 hours later and was standing without pain after about a week. I only took ibuprofen and Tylenol after my hospital stay.

3rd day after here. Stroll around the park. Day 5 didn't need any painkillers. Honestly at around 10 days I felt like I never had major surgery, but obviously I still took care of myself ( and mind you, i was over 30 too so healing is slower)

I just remembered feeling better by 6 weeks and I have a high pain tolerance. Everything else was a blur. I remember as early as 6 weeks. Aside from I know I was making about half of what she ate milk wise.

I’m six days post emergency c section and I can walk around pretty well. Sitting and getting up still hurt but not too painful. I am however convinced that laying on my sides is never going to feel comfortable again. Anyone else not able to lay on their sides?

Currently 4 days post planned C-section. I can stand most mornings but as the day goes on it gets tougher to get up without help. That being said I refused opioids/narcotic pain meds and I’m using only Tylenol and ibuprofen.

I am inspired by all the comments! I was kind of a baby about it I guess, but it was painful to be upright and I tired out quickly. I was on my own after two weeks when my husband had to go back to work and I was doing most everything normally, but just slower.

Day 5 I was going on slow walks outside with my baby and husband and stopped my pain meds. I had a great experience with my c section
