He says applications monetise users through transactions, but the Layer 1s capture that value. Think of apps like stores in a mall. The stores will come and go, but the Layer 1 is the mall itself. It’s more permanent and collects rent from all the stores. As Cosmo puts it, “over the next decade, the leading apps will have changed hands multiple times, but the L1s will not have.” That’s why I like Layer 1s. The value compounds over time, which means you can enter with size and confidence.
