@louisianacrawfishco: What can I say? Sometimes we get bored in the off-season. Crawfish farming takes a tremendous amount of work, but one of the best parts about growing up on a crawfish farm is that when the work is finished, there’s almost always another adventure waiting somewhere. Crawkid is currently proving that by crawling around inside one of our pond drains. Our farm sits in a pretty unique little piece of Louisiana. We’ve got crawfish ponds, swamp, our reservoir, canals, levees, and plenty of undeveloped ground all packed together. That combination creates a great habitat for wildlife and gives the kids what feels like an endless place to explore. We’ve gone frogging out here. We fish. We have deer, ducks, and dove. We catch alligators. We’ve even had some of our birdwatching friends come out just to see what they could find. For sportsmen, there’s always something going on. For the kids, just about anything can become an adventure, apparently including a crawfish drain. And after all of that, there’s still nothing quite like getting back in the boat and running crawfish traps when the season finally comes around again. It’s a lot of work taking care of this place, but that’s also what makes living on it so much fun.
