You’re supposed to use a spoon to scoop into your measuring cup not scoop your measuring cup directly into the flour. Try it that way and get back to us and see if it’s different.

I find myself getting annoyed at measurements that aren’t in grams now. 😅

I agree. Grams is better but you are not showing how you are “scooping” the flour into the cup. You are supposed to spoon it so it is loose in the cup.

I just wanted to make a little note here when you’re measuring flower you’re supposed to fluff it up like really loose and then take it out not scoop it so it packs

The first two times I tried to make a starter. I did it by measuring the third time. I did it with a scale and it took about 30 days, but I got it. Same thing with baking. Such failures with measuring cups, but using a scale, I got it. I also think that random about a cup about a teaspoon about a handful doesn’t work until you’ve learned how it should look and how it should feel and how it should react when you’re mixing and shaping. Now I can wing it a little bit measuring, but I still don’t ever feel like it comes out right without a scale

If I see a recipe using cups, I immediately move on. Bakers don't use cups. People who know what they are doing and want people to be able to recreate their recipes, use a scale. I don't trust people who use cups 😆

Wouldn't different flour have different weights as well?

My question is, how’s they do it out of a wagon? Curious if it was scaled or just ✨Oregon trail vibes✨
