Subbing is 85% building connections! I have been at the same school since the beginning of the semester and am doing a long term job there starting November. The teachers know me, trust I’ll do a good job. They text me and ask if they can assign the job! No more fighting on frontline!

Teacher here! When you sub for someone, leave a note with your phone number and ask to be their preferred sub!!! So nice for us to tell admin that we are gonna be out but already have a sub ❤️

I’m a full time sub. Once you find a school you like, you need to talk to admin and all the teachers and ask that they request you. I now only sub at 2 schools bc they just ask me over and over! It works out great

Tip: if you do well at the site, ask to be on their sub list. Some schools add you without knowing and will prioritize you. Also always be ready early in the mornings or either between 11pm-2am cuz that’s when teachers put in absence

It used to be so easy before. I would wake up and there would be a ton of jobs available. I would go to the gym and accept a job like at 11 and still be paid a full day. But something changed and now there’s hardly any jobs

there’s a “preferred list”, be social and talk to the front staff when you go in, at the end of day tell them how much you liked the school and ask to be on the list. they’ll start calling you before putting the shift up for grabs on the site
