The 8-drawer cart is a smart home base” for student work—four drawers just for geometry is such a clear example of making the system fit the units.

Just curious your thought process of not handing the work back to the students sooner? What if they wanted to use it to help them study

When I taught third grade I made a bin and titled it “no name graveyard” because I WOULD throw papers away from the graveyard if they never got claimed 🤣💀

Have you not thought about going paperless? Email out the worksheets to kids who use their tablet. Once complete student upload to the class portal. Everything is digital. Save the trees and time.

1. Does the district provide the printer in your classroom or does it belong to you? 2. How do organize your 8 drawer cart? I don’t see any labels so I’m just curious how you know specifically what’s in each drawer besides just that it’s geometry or algebra.

My favorite thing that I do in my sixth grade classroom is I bought crates and I put their names for each period inside of the crates and out of created a mailbox system using that!! so if I want kids in my first period then I have those 20 kids names listed using file hanging folder and anytime I graded things. I will throw it through and put them by child name inside of their mailbox and it’s their job to make sure they go in and grab it. :)

Do you ever worry about getting the graded feedback to them sooner so that they can see and learn from their mistakes?

How about having the kids pass back their own work. Sometimes there may be down time and have the kids distribute them to each other.. May help save some time.

Just a thought... that last step where you put all the graded work have you thought of doing file folders for each student? maybe do a number system and just file them and at the end of each unit or wk they can just go pick it up themselves from there folder?

I walk around with clipboard and do completion grades each day on previous work then I show the key for them to check their own work. This way I don’t have to take up work and they get immediate feedback and can then use them to study before tests

Why not hand back the work as it is graded? How do they know if they are struggling or truly understanding the work if they aren’t seeing their graded work??
