I don’t think they will rent either. Dougy removed the rent control for any new build after 2018. So no one is renting those, people have already posted how their landlords quadrupled the rent after they moved in. Which they can if they want after 2018. 😂 This is why I specifically looked for an old house to rent.

It’ll be a positive if these rentals are actually affordable, allowing renters to save up to buy their own home eventually. If the rental rates remain as they are, then it will be people perpetually renting because they cannot save up due to cost of living.

If rent prices go down house costs will also go down because no one is going to spend 5000 on a mortgage for a condo when they can rent the same unit for 1500🤷♂️
