lol I never had a journeyman’s license and I now have a masters and a contractors license. You don’t have to do the apprenticeship program technically speaking. If anyone has questions and wants real answers, reach out to me

I’d rather get in union experienced , and being an apprentice than to hop in green at , I’m first year electrical making 4k a week ima ride this out , get the experience and then if I gotta take a pay cut in the union I will , but I’ll have all my tools needed , experience bending and connecting and I’ll learn what I’m missing on with money saved up from this job compared to joining union 20$ hr as an apprentice and living check to check

8000 hours is 4 years, not 5. unless your state stops counting hours after 1700 hours a year.

Massachusetts journeyman is 8000 hours of work and 600 hours of school and masters is in additional 2000 hours of work and 150 hours of school

+4 years for less than 600 hours of trade school when there’s schools in nyc where you can do 900 hours in 13 months 🤦‍♂️make it make sense

Combined I have 8 years of private and union schools. At this point I am looking more toward an electrical engineering bachelor's degree or construction management.

You can do school in 3 years, once a week every other week (8hr school day) same amount of hours than the 4 year program, once a week every week (4hr class) at night. ABC school Richmond Va. they have other schools around the US

As a journeyman electrician you don’t have to back to trade school just stick to your master electrician for two years and then become a master electrician
