the funniest thing is now in the world of export radios and pill amps, 500 watts is rather mild. CB has become pure anarchy for people flooding the channels with quadruple digits of wattage.

My stepdad had one of those. He installed a thirty foot antenna at the top of an eighty foot tree and plugged it into this fucking thing. He could broadcast into ridiculously distant places, but the only person he could hear back from in any of those places was a friend of his who had done the same thing, and that's why he did it. This was decades ago. If it was done today he'd have been in jail.
