This is not a judgement or attack on the woman in the video. However, I would like to point out a little irony. Catholics will say “the doctrine of eternal security gives people a license to sin” because there are people who will abuse the doctrine and twist it to their own demise. However, that goes both ways. I grew up in a Catholic community where people would treat confession like permission to sin. This woman is talking about going to confession while out clubbing half naked. If I wanted to straw man the Catholic belief the way SOME Catholics strawman eternal security, I could say the confession booth gives you permission to sin. Go do whatever you want Friday night and go to confession the next day. I would assume a Catholic would say “if someone does that, it’s not sincere or genuine and therefore they do not have forgiveness” to which I would say “and if someone uses the doctrine of eternal security as permission to sin, then their faith is not genuine and therefore they are not saved”… Therefore, we should at least be able to agree that the abuse of a doctrine is not necessarily an argument against the doctrine itself.#christian #christianity #christianitytiktok #christiantiktok #truechristianministry
