I think it makes the medium more approachable for a newer audience. I think if it’s a character or story I’m not as familiar with I’d be more inclined to pick it up in this format. Unless it was something I truly wanted to collect then I’m looking for single issues and the trades just got a better overall feel to them. But I’m not opposed to these at all.

I think it’s more of affordable way to get started into comic books I owned five of them versus paying $45 to sometimes 100 for the complete story their first iteration was DC finest which was just a bigger book version of the compact, but the accessibility to be able to read for an affordable price is good and that means the manga was the blueprint 😄
