so you just built a generator, what’s the point of all this work when I can buy a generator for $220 that has 110v and 220v still needs gas so it’s a generator, make a wind mill using the alternator

why use a engine, why not use a bench top grinder and replace the grind wheel with a pully. Build a closed loop, turn grinder on while plugged into electrical outlet when everything gets up to speed good just unplug grinder from outlet and plug it into the inverter thats connect to the batteries. So now thr grinder is powerd by the inverter while spinning the alternator to charge the batteries providing power to the inverter. My grandfather has grinder that has speed controls on them to that would be good for this.

im trying to figure out where he is buying all this stuff. A marine battery alone around here is well over 200 bucks. And any alternator is a bill plus.

Any mechanic knows that remanufactured AutoZone alternator will only last 30 days. Maybe 31 days just so it's outside of warranty and you can't get a refund.
