absolutely love the unique and special bond between Levi and Erwin (which strongly reminds me of Roy and Riza from FMA). EruRi makes far more sense than pairing Levi with anyone else. EruRi is considered implicitly canon—just like Royai—but it’s less widely accepted simply because they are both men; if one of them had been a woman, everyone would have agreed on it, just as they did with Royai, because the connection is so obvious. Isayama himself confirmed that Erwin is the most important, irreplaceable person in Levi’s life, and that the two share absolute trust, allowing themselves to be vulnerable only with each other—never with anyone else. Also, Levi’s decision regarding Erwin’s death was an act of love and selflessness; he refused to let Erwin be plunged back into that hell. He understood Erwin’s suffering better than anyone. After Erwin’s death, Levi comes across like a grieving widower, obsessed with the promise he made to his husband—seriously. 💔❤️
