as a trans person who takes testosterone, it's been crazy seeing how many things have changed that don't seem related to sex characteristics all. for example, I no longer get seasonal allergies, I get far fewer migraines, and my ears produce way more wax. there's so much we can learn about hormones, genetics, and the roles they play when studying organisms with atypical combinations of sexual traits, I really hope to see it get the funding it deserves in my lifetime.

Those mouse lines are one of my hyperfixations. There is so much sexual dimorphism in psychiatric conditions, and estrogen/progesterone/testosterone/etc explain A BIT, but not a ton! I'm an early career neuroscientist, so I can't afford another mouse line, but the SRY transgenics are on my Christmas list 🥺🥺🥺

I'm a biomed graduate, genetic sex is archaic we are moving away from it and just using karyotype, because we understand the mechanics of gene expression, and allosomes don't determine sex, they're involved but thats it.
