@trend_log: Sometimes the most painful realization isn’t that someone stopped loving you. It’s realizing how far you lowered your expectations just to keep the connection alive. At first, maybe you wanted effort, reassurance, affection, and a future together. But over time, you stopped asking for those things. You started asking for less and less until eventually you weren’t even asking them to love you back. You were just asking them to let you keep loving them. And that’s when something inside you finally breaks open. Because love shouldn’t require you to beg for permission to care. You shouldn’t have to convince someone to receive the best parts of you. So eventually, you stop trying to force your love into a place that keeps rejecting it. You take that energy back and start putting it into yourself, your faith, your friendships, your goals, and the future you’re trying to build. You realize that being loving is still one of your strengths, even if you gave it to someone who couldn’t hold it properly. And moving forward doesn’t mean becoming colder. It means learning that your love deserves somewhere it can be welcomed, valued, and returned.
