It was such a privilege to speak at the iconic Snowflake Summit yesterday at the Moscone center in SF. Our panel: how to grow your career in the AI era. Moderated by Snowflake's Chief People Officer Arnnon Geshuri, alongside Scott Budman from NBC News and Professor Sanjiv Das. Here's what I told the room. 1. Follow cracked people and frontier tech. Cracked companies are built by cracked talent. And cracked talent always follows cracked tech. (Excuse the Gen Z expression.) I had conversation Chase, the founder of Crusoe last week on Venture with Grace. He started the company in the crypto era. Now they're a $10B+ company in the AI era. Why? Cracked people pivot. They're always onto the newest tech solving the biggest problem. Stay ahead or get left behind. 2. Build every day. New AI tools drop every single week. The only way you don't get Claude-shotted is to build with them daily. Got laid off? Good. That's not the end, that's the upgrade. Time to level up and find what actually fits you. I know top engineers at top AI startups who walked away on purpose, just to rebuild themselves around the newest tools. 3. How to get hired in the AI era. How do you get hired when AI is applying to jobs for you AND screening you at the same time? You stop applying. You start building. Cracked founders hire cracked friends. They're pulling talent straight out of X comment sections and GitHub repos. So do the job before anyone gives it to you. That's how you get spotted. The audience questions were sharp. The other panelists made me rethink my own answers in real time. Some highlights of the day: so many friends came across the Bay Area to see our panel. And I got to see my icon Denise on stage and backstage. Someone I really look up to and one of the most badass women I know. Huge thank you to Francisco, Elsa, and the Snowflake team for a fantastic event. No conference in history has had a last day of summit week this packed. The AI era isn't coming for your career. It's handing you a head start, if you're willing to build. #snowflakesummit #snowflakedevday #sf #moscone #snowflakesummit2026
