As a caregiver always have your own PPE. cover yourself well and prepare for nonsense. some dementia patients know exactly what they are doing but it's still no excuse to maltreat them.

I quit my overnight shift when one resident pull my hair so hard that she injured herself and I was close to lose it. When you reach your limit just quit don’t ever put your hands on them.

I agree ♥️if you wanna be caregiver you need to have a compassion especially you need to be really patient..The patient with a dementia is really complicated because they are like baby you must to be human to take care like your baby

My Dad has passed from Dementia months ago. Care giver is hard! Not only that even if you are the kids, they will say mean things to you. They will try to spit on you. They will try to hit you if they’re sleeping and they don’t wanna wake up etc.. You have to understand it’s not them. It’s a disease and you have to just let it slide because if you knew them and you knew they wouldn’t be doing this stuff if they didn’t have dementia then you will understand you have to have compassion and let things slide. They don’t know what they’re doing. It’s not their fault.
