Wondering how Ran, Yun & An matcha from @forestcloudbev 🌳☁️ taste as usucha and latte? Fret not, I’m here to help! ✨ Let’s start with Ran! Ran Matcha has a pale yellowish-green color with a light grassy and inai kinda aroma. The powder feels slightly coarse and it have a watery paste. This matcha is the easiest to make foams. As an usucha, it tastes bitter and very astringent, giving a sharp first sip. It is more suitable as a latte because it’s more creamy with. There is almost no bitterness. The flavor is mild with a slight astringent, and nutty notes are hard to detect. —— Yun Matcha has a deeper green color with a slight warm-toned and has a savory aroma, slightly like mamee curry (?). The powder feels smooth and forms a thick paste. I found this matcha cannot really make microfoams. With water, it has a sweet aftertaste. The bitterness in here is the least. The overall flavor is soft and delicate as an usucha. With milk, it is smooth and creamy with no bitterness and a natural sweetness aftertaste that makes it easy to drink. There is a light nutty taste, followed by a corn or cereal note at the end. —— An Matcha has the deepest green color in compare to Ran & Yun. The powder is smooth and makes a thick paste. It is also easy to make microfoams. As an usucha, it is smooth but strong, with noticeable bitterness and astringency. The roasted flavor is quite intense and lingers after each sip. As a latte, it is smooth and creamy with little to no bitterness. The umami notes may comes from kombu dashi, giving it a gentle savory depth. There is a noticeable nutty flavor, roasted chestnut, which adds richness to the overall taste.
