There have been so many moments over the last 8.5 years where I’ve stood in front of a mirror wondering what it would be like without my loose skin. Wondering what all of the hard work underneath would look like. But if I could say one thing before this chapter closes… It would simply be thank you. Thank you for carrying me through every season of my life. Thank you for stretching as I grew. Thank you for protecting me. Thank you for reminding me every single day just how far I’ve come. This body—the stretch marks, the scars, the loose skin, every single inch of it—got me here. & because of that, I could never hate it. Have there been days I’ve looked in the mirror & wished things were different? Absolutely. But I’ve learned that loving your body isn’t waiting until you like everything you see. It’s choosing to respect it, care for it, & speak kindly to it anyway. My loose skin taught me that. It taught me confidence. It taught me gratitude. It taught me that my worth was never determined by the way my body looked. & now… My reality & the dreams I never thought would come true are colliding. This surgery isn’t me leaving this body behind. It’s the final step in a journey this body made possible. So thank you. For carrying me here. For teaching me to love myself at every shape. & for giving me the opportunity to step into this next chapter with gratitude instead of shame. No matter where you are in your own journey… Choose to love your body at every step.
