what what I've learned about how ai is created and trained I think there is some truth to the idea it's inevitable; it really is more of a discovery than a creation. I really think the deeper conversation needs to be on training and safety, intellectual property, and who should own and be responsible for productive infrastructure like factories and data centers - and it probably shouldn't be private companies who oversee themselves.

AI is inevitable but billionaire backed AI is not. Technology will march on one way lr another and we're not the only country on earth. China is working on AI. Russia is working on AI. AI is going to continue on in some form. Trying to *stop* AI is doomed to fail. We cannot stop 8.3 billion people from trying to advance AI. What we *can* do is try to divert the river into making AI work for the majority and not billionaires. Anti-AI is not inherently anti-billionaire and being anti-billionaire is not inherently Anti-AI. Technology is a tool. How we use that tool should be in the public's hands. If anything this is an argument on why we should remove profit incentivization from science.
