I’m actually kinda glad this SP makes it more explicit that in Penacony, Firefly was the female love interest and AVENTURINE WAS THE MALE LOVE INTEREST. But everyone treated me like I’m INSANE!! People were pulling from lore and like- design references to say he was gay (which is fine) but his bisexuality was RIGHT THERE 😫

and the hate comes from shippers who ship aventurine with maoe characters and are those fans who use their hcs to sexuality-code characters. yeah no the last thing i'm gonna do is listen to some delusional yaoi fans. i will never forget how loud they were back then, coming up with the craziest and most misogynistic excuses to say that aventurine is gay by using homophobic stereotypes like "just listen to the way he talks!" or saying dtuff like "he can't date women! a woman couldn't- i mean shouldn't handle his trauma and can't- i mean shouldn't feel like she has to help him heal!!"
