Bro you can’t talk about how great the show is and only talk about Aaron as John Stewart bc Bro !!! Kyle Chandler is absolutely incredible in that and I think he carries most of it for now. Also I think it’s a great choice to make it a series and not start straight away with a big blockbuster movie bc not a lot of ppl are familiar whith the Green lanterns and having it served to the ppl as a series slowly introduces who the green lanterns are and all the different characters. Keep in mind the first movie failed and when you ask the general population about dc it’s never the green lantern that comes in mind first it’s superman batman the flash etc… so I think you have to slowly build up to there also easing you way into ppls mind and consciousness. I think What Gunn is doing is absolutely incredible.

You are right however realistically he can be the face for DCU TV. This means TV shows within this universe can focus more on grounded issues and Movies can focus on spectacle and the razzle dazzle.

historically, Batman is always distrustful of Green Lantern. which would be a more fun back and forth while you have Superman be the happy Labrador friend in the middle.

Agree. Superman was good not great. Supergirl i didn’t even finish. Peacemaker is great for what it is, street level.

Mate, crearure commandos was a great launching point. Aaron Pierre is amazing, but CC sets the tone, bunch of freaks doing the suicide squad gig after Waller gets shut down. If you haven't seen it, i thoroughly recommend. Would love to know your thoughts, your reviews are sick. loved the attack on titan stuff you did

idk if id say that this series would've worked as a movie or even something similar to the show. I think a series like this needs time to breath and time for things really marinate not just story wise but with an audience. maybe it could have come out earlier but overall im very happy with how the series has turned out

this is actually a really interesting take. and I like that sort of framing. he would also act as an audience's POV to the universe, reacting to these new and fresh characters with us. definitely would've been a great choice to start w Lanterns first in that case. and I also agree with that it does feel quite directionless right now.

I'm loving everything about Lanterns so far. yeah, i was skeptical about an earth-based lantern show, but the two leads are absolutely perfect for their roles and keep me coming back for their tumultuous relationship

i think lanterns is too grounded to be the face of the dcu. the face of a superhero universe starting now was always gonna need to be a big and campy blockbuster.

Not sure if it’s in the comics, but him being a vegan, not drinking alcohol, drinking decaf is such a small detail that I love and goes a long way to making his ‘devoted his whole life to being earths perfect guardian’ feel real and tangible

The good thing about it being grounded is we spend more real time with the characters, would’ve loved a higher budget project aswell

Idk if I agree. I really love the way the DCU is turning out with all of these projects being kinda like the comics. Wildly different stories and genres but all reasonably within the same universe and building up the world together
