I believe this same thing has happened in one or two other states. DNA is so critical to a person's freedom, or execution, it should never be left on the hands of a single tester, no matter how good they are believed to be. It seems to me the states could save money, and ensure no innocent person is persecuted, or no guilty person allowed to roam free, by employing at least 3 professionals to independently evaluate DNA samples. As I understand it, the cost of housing a person in prison or on death row for years is extremely costly.
