My favorite thing is when a micromanaging boss lists “micromanagement” as an example of what not to do. They don’t see their own actions as micromanagement because they believe their every contribution is vital and that the rest of us are varying degrees of incompetent

In my case they picked the dumbest person to be a group leader because she was a ass kissing minion. She then became known as the warden because of her constant watching over us. She just killed productivity.

I manage about 6-8 staff. I also have workload myself. My workload gets half-stepped as I help others with questions/their work or work that I dont expect they can complete. If I see them not working on tasks assigned I might comment on it, I might let it slide because we all have days were sluggish. But a majority of my team is sluggish on most days. I dont dislike anybody, I do however wish I could get everyone on the same page in morale but my job environment is toxic and chaotic as it is. I manage beside another supervisor who is more harsh on the staff, and is more the micro-manager its a rough cycle for myself. I don’t even want the position anymore honestly.
