@dailymail: At least five people have died and 43 have been rescued after a fire broke out aboard the MV June Aster in waters off Coron on September 9, the Philippine Coast Guard said. The ferry had departed from Baseco in Manila and was bound for Coron. According to a Coast Guard spokesperson, the vessel’s manifest listed 117 passengers and 17 crew members. Based on the reported number of survivors and fatalities, more than 80 people remain unaccounted for. Officials said the figures could change as the search and rescue operation continues.
