@meandmygirls_mm: Those of you who suggested jumping spiders can go straight to jail 😭 but I do really appreciate all the advice and suggestions 🫶 #singlemum #singlemumlife #pet #advice #motherhood
I think that this is an amazing response to that last video. I did see it and was a bit like hmm maybe it not ready. I do really think that when you are opened up to maybe have a pet get 2 kittens. 2 is genuinely half the work because they raise each other and your life isn’t really much affected you can go out for the whole day, can go on holiday etc they realistically just need feeding twice a day. Obvs there’s more to it than just that but in an average day if you had something unexpected come up then you wouldn’t have to worry about your pet! I’ve got a 2 year old cat and he wouldn’t even realise if I didn’t come home 💀💀

A cat! If possible, very sweet and compared to other animals, lower maintenance! Our wee boy is obsessed!

As a family who thought fish would be easy. We bought roughly 40 fish over the course of last summer. All died by mid summer. One by one. And one by one we’d replace them. The water was right. The types of fish got along. We couldn’t figure them out. You know what’s easier, a cat. A female cat will not spray.

I had fish when I was growing up. Not a great return on investment, honestly. They smell, you can’t play with them, and they don’t live very long. I got a cat when I was older and that was great because she was self-sufficient in so many ways and I still learned about pet ownership, etc and no one had to walk the dog in the rain.

Everyone commenting 2 cats is the easiest pet you will have are actually kind of accurate. I currently have 4 cats in my home and its a breeze (im a foster carer) i also own a dog and am foster another dog when i tell you 1 dog take more work then 4 cats im not lying. We also had cats growing up and i personally loved them as pets but for sure wait till your ready as mums and dads end up doing most of the care taking

You’d fall in love with a cat if you had your own, their little personalities come out and they’re so much easier than dogs (which also love but couldn’t walk), so long as you have someone to check in on them if you go away they’re the low maintenance way to go - when you’re ready of course 🥰

You could always sign up to something like borrowmydoggy.com and help out with someone's pooch on weekends and school holidays.

I felt the same but my husband went and brought home two kittens! I love them and my two kids adore them (sons confidence around animals has also improved by 1000000%) but still prefered life without them x
