This year I learned that helping someone in need doesn’t always mean financially. I had a someone who needed help with groceries while waiting for NSFAS funding, she’s from my hometown and 1st year student in the Western Cape. She didn’t have any groceries and reached out to me for help, I didn’t have enough money to be able to help her and normally I’d take that last money and help with it but the Holy Spirit said to me that I shouldn’t do that. He told me to do some research on the students support programs of that particular university and reach out to them. I did that and also sent her all the information I got and advised her on where to go and what to do, she did and got the help she needed. I learned from there that helping isn’t only financial and that has taught me not to take from what I don’t have and end up putting myself in debt.
