Former McDonald’s store manager. Yes they can, the reason they say this is refunds are a different line item and it’s often a performance metric as well. So they tell employees to do anything to prevent giving out a refund and over time the words gets tossed around to just no refunds…

Not even joking McDonald’s wouldn’t give me a refund once when they over charged me for a drink I didn’t order. Said they didn’t have the cash for it. I reminded them I paid in cash. Just give it back. They couldn’t because then they wouldn’t have it if they needed it…. Well you need it now cause it’s mine.

It is a civil matter so pay the filing fee and sue them for the few dollars plus you can add to it for emotional distress and your time and you would be doing it as matter of principle not hard to find out who owner is

no, just call corperate. somehow lines got crossed and no refund was probably meant to apply to other situations. they will refund you. through corperate.

OK, so a couple questions. Did you order through an app? If that’s the case, they cannot give you your money back because they don’t have the ability to do that to their cash registers. They can offer you something else. If you paid for it, with a credit card or cash they absolutely can give you your money.

You must’ve ordered it online they cannot give you a refund. You have to get it from the company online. They have to transfer it back into your account.

I think there's a high chance that that woman misinterpreted something their manager said, or that manager in interpretated sometime the GM said. That there's no refunds in under some specific circumstances, but not when you've charged for something they can give you
