@laylamac_: My siblings & I were a group of 5. All with mental health issues, learning disabilities etc. The Foster parents we had were making BANK. And we had nothing to show for it #fostercare #fostercaresystem

The strange part is that they take children away from parents who can’t afford to take care of them, and then GIVE MONEY to someone else to care for the child instead of helping the mother out of with money

Teacher here. Yes we see plenty of foster parents who should never be parents. Another reason why fostering isn't better than abortions. Anyone wo says that has never seen the abuse in foster care.

I was NOT expecting her to say that at all. I always knew foster care was bad but Whatt getting paid more for them to fail ?!? It’s mind blowing to me.

Foster care pays you based on your take home income so in our house we would pay everything out of pocket and of course how could we not give a child in our care the exact same as our own daughter. We spend approximately $2,000/month on her sports clothes tutor special snacks entertainment shiny toys she sees at the store lol My point is foster care rewards people of lower income and not those who invest in their kids. I sent a letter to some minister a few years ago say at minimum ask parents of higher income for receipts to show they spend that money on their education toys clothes activities and investments for future. Nope they truly encourage people of lower educational brackets because they make less fuss and demand less resources for the kids

So the same system that makes you broke takes away your children away bc you can’t afford to take care of them, and then GIVE MONEY to someone else to care for the child instead of helping the mother out of with money

I was a “high risk” kid. Lots of trauma, and adhd. I was worth 4k a month, but yet when i was in foster care we were “poor” my foster parents even took 10k of my trust money to build a bedroom that i slept in for 9 months. They also built a play room for their kids with that money.

When I was 15 or 16 I saw the checks my amom got for me and my 3 siblings. Was getting about a grand for each of us- while we lived off my ramen and Suave shampoo.

I was in foster care, and my foster mom and dad were the best people ever. They made sure I was in school and received the best education available. They bought me everything I needed from head to toe and included me in trips and celebrations. Most importantly, they loved me. I am so thankful to them because what they paid for me didn't compare to the love and care they showed. Thanks to them, I graduated from high school, went to college, and even now, my mom and I are very close. Unfortunately, my dad passed away in 2018, but he will always be the best parent God gave me. Not all foster parents are like that.

I want to foster and put their stipend into a bank account and gift it to them when they're out of college. ♡

lets change the laws to where the parents get rewarded for good grades then. And if the child is not showing improvement after a certain amount of time frame then they should be transferred to another parent. they should make foster parenting like a full time job and only the better parents get promotions.

my sons friend was in foster care, 7 different homes, some of them they would be abused, forced to do physical labor, r*ped, and so much more, so that they would get more money from the foster care system. I was so disgusted, appalled, and horrified to hear that. im so glad you are speaking up about it!
