I really need your honest opinions on this… ❤️ I’ve been trying different height extenders underneath my shoe because something just doesn’t feel quite right with my prosthetic. In this video, you can see that when I’m standing normally and bearing weight, the difference in height is really noticeable. When I’m not bearing weight, the prosthetic lifts right off the floor, but once I put my weight through it, everything changes. For me, option 3 felt the smoothest by far. My walk felt more natural, I felt incredibly stable, and for the first time in a while I didn’t have that constant feeling that I was about to lose my balance. I genuinely feel like my prosthetic could be a couple of inches too short. I completely understand that a prosthetic needs swing and clearance to work properly, so I’m not pretending I know better than the professionals. But I also know how my body feels. The reason I’m so anxious about raising this with the NHS is because, in the past, I’ve sometimes left appointments feeling dismissed or like my concerns weren’t fully heard. This isn’t a criticism of the NHS or the amazing people who work in it—it’s simply my personal experience, and it’s made me nervous about speaking up again. So I’m asking for your honest opinions before I push for another assessment. 👀 What do you see? Does option 3 look like the better height? Am I right to ask questions about my prosthetic, or am I overthinking it? I’d really appreciate constructive advice, especially from other amputees or anyone with prosthetic experience. ❤️ #AmputeeLife #ProstheticLeg #AmputeeCommunity #Rehabilitation #NHSJourney
