I don’t wrangle over the payment I have a price in mind for the car. I will of course run a calculator to understand what the payment estimate will be, but I care about the price of the car not the payment. The payment is second to what it is worth.

It’s incredible that people don’t go to a dealership with any type of preparation. Easy research will teach you what type of rate you can get and what type of payment you should make before you go. For many, this is the second or even the first largest purchase of their lives, and they go in knowing nothing, this is why some dealers take advantage. I’m not saying you, but many do

Im not going past $40.00 on my budget. And some people would say 40.00 a month is nothing but an extra 40.00 is $2,400 on a 5 year loan and that isnt even counting intrest.

Not walking in with a payment in mind. I did the math before I enter the lot. I know what I can spend. If I see a car a few hundred over my limit, then it's up to the seller if they'll accept my offer.

I’ve gone $70 over but usually I’m firm and the dealer can either make adjustments, I can come up with the down payment needed, or I can keep driving what I’m driving.

I'm a total out the door cost guy and i'm usually pretty clear where i want to be. i'll move a couple grand if I'm convinced it will get me something i'm happier with, but that's about it. Lock down out the door price, get a good rate, keep the term 2 - 4 years depending what else i have going on. 🤷🏻♂️
