@studywithclarie: 1- That one sentence just cost me 30 minutes. I used to get stuck on one sentence I didn't understand and spend ages Googling every unfamiliar term. Meanwhile, I'd barely made it through two pages. You don't need to understand everything on your first read, instead, focus on getting the bigger picture first. 2- If you read a paper 3 times and still don't get it... That doesn't mean you're bad at your PhD. Some papers are genuinely difficult, especially when you're new to the field. Sometimes you just need to build more background knowledge before the paper starts making sense. 3-Step back and look at the bigger picture. After doing my PhD, I've realised how much easier research can be when you stop trying to take in everything at once. I definitely would've appreciated having tools like Readray back then. Being able to restructure a paper and get an at-a-glance overview would've made the whole process a lot less overwhelming. #phdlife #research #readray #lilysai #readinghacks
