This is why communism is meant to come after capitalism. You need capitalism to create the infrastructure. Then you can use it for communism. But I think the other important thing to discuss is: would it even work if it is not implemented globally? Even if the US becomes communist and "takes over" Amazon... You still need to rely on the global supply chain... So communism can only work if it is adopted globally... Like a true global village.

I’m in the uk and when we talk about universal health care we think about the whole system, hospitals, doctors etc as being nationalised. ( although back door privatisation is creeping in) is that not what universal health care in the US means ?

This is my gripe, we should be talking about mechanisms of seizure not voting for reform in a system that won’t allow it. Universal healthcare is just putting insurance in the hands of government, but the hospitals, drug production and medical education is still privatized. We literally funded their creation with our tax dollars, why should we have to negotiate drug prices when those patents are the American People’s.
