@thenooktattoostudio: Ehlers Danlos Syndrome can change the tattooing experience in ways you might not expect. 🫶 From skin elasticity and tissue sensitivity to joint pain and needing to change positions during a long session, accessibility in tattooing is about so much more than a ramp. At The Nook Tattoo Studio, EDS-informed care is a huge part of why we exist. Every artist is EDS-informed and trained and our studio is co-owned by an artist who lives with EDS. Your body isn’t a burden. You never have to earn your accommodations here. 💗 Now booking at TheNookTattooStudio.com @tattedbykar @tattoobyfaith @james.martin.tattoos #EhlersDanlos #EDSAwareness #EDSTattoo #AccessibleTattooing #TheNookTattooStudio

anybody else with eds have tattoos? I have lots and I have noticed my skin sucks up ink so easily and healing I barely ooze or leak afterwards. was wondering if anyone else experienced this?

on the bright side, if done properly, the tattoos look vibrant forever on most people with hEDS

I found out that the side condition if MCAS can also mean you’re allergic to the dye. Mine gets raised and itchy for no reason.

Is there a polite way to educate a tattoo artist who isn’t informed about EDS? I feel like most artists aren’t

my skin holds ink INCREDIBLY well. Never have had to have any touchups on color, I have pink and yellow in some 10+ year old tattoos that look as vibrant as the month I got them done.

My tattoo healed great! No oozing or anything but I was extremely sick after with a fever, I went with three other people and none of them experienced anything like that just me I wonder if it was my body reacting poorly

All of my fine line tattoos on my arms healed looking like they were done with a fat sharpie. 😭 I’ve been afraid to add any more because of it. The massive piece on my hip healed fine though 🤷‍♀️

I have EDS, FIBRO AND ADHD and tattooing is so relaxing for me. I genuinely fell asleep during my last thigh piece, healing is always super fast with minimal anything to even notice I just had one!

When you feel more included, represented, understood and validated in a tattoo shop than a doctor's office... IYKYK 🥹❤️‍🩹👌🏻 I wish y'all were close to me, I cannot wait to get more tattoos one day. I kinda want a sleeve. 👀😅

I found that my only issue is ink rejection. I can't sit for about 2 hours before my skin just stops behaving lol. I have a beautiful large, all color piece that's 5 years old now - no blowout, color loss, nothin. but it did take multiple sessions when in reality maybe one or two would have sufficed a normal person

♥️I have never even met a tattoo artist who knows what EDS is. My tattoo artists have always been willing to learn, but I was introducing it to them. I love seeing this! I live quite far but I am saving the link & sharing!

i have a question, if you use the techniques for EDS skin on regular skin will it turn out bad? just wondering for people who are undiagnosed, would it be better to just ask them to use the EDS techniques even if your not confirmed to have it

I have hEDS and my tattoos still look great and they are more than 5 years old. My artist told me my skin takes the ink well and I have a high pain tolerance.

I’m my tattoo artist’s favorite client she says my skin loves to be tattooed and compliments how soft it is and says they always heal so well

I have hypermobile ellers-danlos. I also have mcas. I'm afraid to get a tattoo because what if I'm allergic, but my ear holes have closed on the back and I would like to have my ears pierced again. I do have a lot of metal issues though. where are you guys located?
