The Risk Falls on Microsoft Since PlayStation walked away from the financial risk the burden of funding all those high end Hollywood actors cutting edge tech and cross media entertainment projects now falls squarely on Xbox shoulders Xbox is taking a massive gamble hoping that the prestige and attention will outweigh the high costs. If the game doesn't sell well or bring enough people into their ecosystem it could turn into a heavy financial burden that forces difficult cutbacks later on.
