I’m not gonna lie, I think using too much AI in editing can actually make an edit look worse 😭. AI is insanely useful when you use it properly, but when every single part of an edit is AI-generated or AI-enhanced, it can start losing the human touch. Sometimes you can instantly tell when a video has been pushed through too many AI effects. The footage starts looking overly smooth, faces can look weird, details become unnatural, and everything gets that same artificial “AI” texture 💀. Instead of making the edit look more professional, it can make it feel plastic and lifeless. I think AI works best as a tool, not as the entire editing process. Use it to upscale footage, remove something, generate an idea, fix a problem, or speed up repetitive work. Then let your actual editing skills handle the creativity—the timing, transitions, motion, composition, effects, and storytelling. There’s something special about an edit where you can actually see the editor’s personality and effort. Perfectly keyframing a movement, building a transition from scratch, finding the right clips, and making everything sync with the music gives an edit character. AI can help you cook, but if you let AI do the whole cooking, eventually the edit starts tasting like AI 😭. Sometimes less is genuinely more. Use the technology, but don’t let it replace the creativity that makes an edit feel HUMAN. 🔥
