@thegravgear: Holding on and pushing down are two different exercises, and the gap is about seven seconds. Grip the bars and your shoulders ride up toward your ears, your body sags between your arms, and nothing locks. Push down instead like you're driving the bars through the floor, and your shoulder blades depress, your lats switch on, and you end up supported rather than suspended.
